Brazil is the 4th largest producer of plastic waste in the world, but unfortunately, recycles a very small rate of this waste. To give you an idea, in 2019, according to data from WWF Brazil, a total of 11.3 million tons of plastic generated, only 1.3% (145 thousand) was recycled. This figure is far below the global average for plastic recycling, which is 9%. So we all must contribute to increase this number – industry, public authorities and individuals. PupinPlast currently recycles around 2400 tons of plastic annually to manufacture our products, but we know that this is still not enough in view of the urgency of this issue. We want to contribute more and more to a more sustainable planet for all of us!
Until June 5th, we celebrate Environment Week 2022. This is an ideal period to review our daily practices, whether in the personal or professional environment. The campaign motto this year is “One Earth” and focuses on the discussion around sustainable living in harmony with nature. In this context, Civil Construction has a fundamental role as one of the sectors with the greatest environmental impact. Therefore, it is essential that we institute sustainable methods and processes, from project planning, going through the choice of suppliers and products, until the execution of the work.
